Сериал о полиции Чикаго повествует нам о будничной жизни этой структуры. Там работают замечательные, бравые и смелые парни, но каждый из них имеет свой, порой нелёгкий, характер, ведь в такую структуру идут люди, сильные морально. В сериале есть несколько остросюжетных линий. Основная - это общение двух групп полицейских между собой. Они имеют различную степень власти и разную квалификацию, но постоянно должны решать вопросы вместе, иначе работа не будет выполнена. Второстепенные линии - раскрытие характеров героев-полицейских, а также уголовные дела, раскрытием которых они занимаются с упорством и по совести.
